Things I'll Miss and Not
I love my kids and as I get older and they get older I miss things. I just walked into the kids bathroom and realized that we probably won't always have Tweetie Bird towels hanging up. Plain towels will make me a little sad. On the other hand, I will never miss people leaving the cap off the tooth paste bottle.
Tonight, I got to go to Scouts with the boys and I helped all the new Scouts earn their Bobcat Badge. I enjoy Scouts but I will not miss it a great deal when the boys decide they are done with it. I got to read 3 books to Josie tonight before bed. I will read books to her for as long as she will let me. We read Mrs. Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten, The Kissing Hand, and A Bad Hair Day.

Cub Scouts
This is Jalen on his first night as a cub scout. We always start the meeting by saying the Pledge of Allegiance, The Cub Scout Promise, The Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout Motto. I love the way that he is looking up at the flag like it is 20 feet tall.
Here is Jackson saying the Pledge of Allegiance. This is his third year as a scout. All the Dads in Jackson's den have been the Den Leaders. This year Todd Wolfe has stepped up to be the Den Leader and Tim Vick and I will be assistant leaders.
I spent a couple of years as a scout when I was a kid. I remember the big Pack Meetings, we had about 75 people in our pack. The first year we had a Den Mom and her name was Lucy. She always made things fun, we met in the club house of an apartment complex close to my house. I remember going to Scout Camp on spring and I won two awards. I was the second fastest pancake cooker and I was the third best in the memory competition. The pancake cooking was done on camping stoves. A scoop of batter was placed on our griddle and as soon as we could flip in and get over a string without it falling apart. I don't remember what my time was but I remember my pancake was pretty runny in the middle. The memory game was on a full 4X8 sheet of plywood. There were 100 random items placed on the plywood and covered with a blanket. you got to look at the items for 2 minutes and then you had to write down all that you remembered. The number that comes to my mind that I remembered was 84 but I don't remember for sure.
