12-2-2013 Campus Christmas Lighting

I don't know how long we have had these Christmas lights on campus but this year is the first time I have ever shot the lighting.  Previously I have sent student photographers.  This was a really fun event and I was surprised how many kids came out.

Christmas Lights and Sunset

I try to find something beautiful to photograph everyday. I am not as good about blogging as I should be. Here is one of my shots from today. HU turned on the Christmas Lights on campus. I shot this photo with my iPhone and the Camera+ app. I share most of these photos with the Instagram App because it makes it easy to share it on Facebook and Twitter. I would be love for you to follow me on Twitter or Facebook .

I am having some trouble blogging with my iPhone. The photos of the leaves that I posted yesterday look fuzzy and unimpressive. If you click on the photos the open up and they look beautiful. I hope to have a solution soon. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the photo.

Funerals

Today I attended the funeral of my good friend Jennings Osborne. In my years of life I have attended a good number of funerals and I've often left wishing I had known the person better. Today, I was so thankful and proud to have known Jennings Osborne and call him my friend. I am thankful for all the photos I have of him and all the memories. I keep thinking about Jennings stories to blog and there are just too many to log from my phone.

I have always loves sunsets and some of the most remarkable ones I've seen have been on days when someone I've known passed away or were buried. I wonder if it is a glimpse of the heavenly welcoming party.

Christmas @ Harding

This afternoon I went across campus to the library and I took this photo (again with my new lens) of the College Arch which unfortunately is the more beautiful of the two arches. We don't like to be called Harding College anymore since we have been a University for years. Anyway the arch was beautiful with all the ice that kinda looks like snow. On my way back to the office the arch looked like even better.
The entire front lawn is beautiful. If you get a chance to come to Searcy or if you live here you really should come and take a walk on campus this Christmas season.

Tree Again

Last night I shot the Christmas Lights around the William J. Clinton Presidential Library.
This is one of those Christmas trees isolated against the Arkansas River rail bridge. Some of the coolest freelance jobs I ever get to do involve Christmas Lights and/or US Presidents. I love being a photographer.
