85/365 1000 win

3-26-2013
The Bisons played a double header on Tuesday.  I shot the first game and got all of these shots.  The Bisons got slaughtered in the first game against Union University.  I shot about 30 shots of the second game and got called away.  The second game was a win for the Bisons, not just a win it was the 1000th win.

Baseball

Today was a miserable day for playing baseball, but it beat the heck out of sitting in the office all afternoon.

The right lens on the right body

Sometimes you just need to get the right lens on the right body. I have had the Nikon 80-400 zoom as my long telephoto lens for about 5 years now and it worked ok. Today I shot that 80-400 on the D3s body instead of the old D2Xs and it was a whole new experience. I don't know what the difference is but the 80-400 is much happier on the D3s which is good with me. I had Jalen shooting with me today and noticed that he is left eye dominate. Never had noticed that before. I like shooting baseball with Jalen, he keeps me looking at things with a new sense of wonder and joy.

Shooting Baseball with Jalen

This May I am loosing both of my student workers. I decided that I should start training future student workers a little younger. I have a couple of HS guys that have shot with me a little here and there. This week in 2nd grade Jalen was a Photographer as his career fair occupation. I decided that at the Bison baseball game today he should try his hand with a real camera and a long zoom lens. He did a decent job and after a little coaching he was filling the frame pretty well. I had fun and you never know there may be another Montgomery Photographer coming along.
