Adobe Lightroom 2

Well, I am again up to date on photo software. I installed Adobe Lightroom 2 yesterday and playing around a little this morning I think I will be opening Photoshop a little less. I really love this software as a workflow solution for culling out bad photos, renaming, and applying meta data.

Update: The photos in my Lightroom Library are some I took for The Daily Citizen of the beginning of school and no they were not used by the paper.

Microsoft Expression Media 2

Let the software parade continue. We started using this software 8 years ago when it was Mac only and called iView Media Pro. I was sad when Microsoft bought them out but we are too far along to change our DAM (data access management) software. This software works with all media types and it creates web pages, converts image from raw to jpeg or tiff. Sound files from aiff or wav to MP3. I would be lost without it. Did I mention this is how we KEYWORD photos so you can search for them later. Bottom line- this is awesome software.

Nikon Capture NX 2

Just got in the new Nikon Capture software. I don't use it for everything but the control points are amazing. If you shoot RAW files with a Nikon camera I would really consider this software.
