READ Poster

This year the homecoming I mean Jeff Fest Musical was Scrooge. Jean the Librarian decided that Robin Miller, the Director of Scrooge, should be the December READ Poster. Robin even got in character and costume and we used the lovely set for the location of the shoot. I have to thank my student photographer,Noah Darnell, for helping with the lighting and with the loaning of the wonderful Nikon 50mm F1.4. I did the Graphic Design myself with some consultation from Tom Buterbaugh, the Harding University Graphic Designer.

October READ Poster

Harding's Head Football Coach ,Ronnie Huckeba, is featured this month on the Brackett Library Read Poster. Due to the tight deadline on shooting and getting everything ready, I did the Graphic design work myself , as you can probably tell. I did have a little guidance from Tom Buterbaugh in the PR office. The book is Finish Strong by Dan Green.

I haven't read Finish Strong, but I am currently reading Within The Frame The Journey of Photographic Vision by David duChemin. Best book on photography I have read in a while.

READ Poster

The new READ poster features ,Harding University assistant professor of biology, Jo Goy. She chose a book on the environment and wanted to do an outdoor photo. Unfortunately, the day we went to take photos it was 18 degrees outside so we ended up in the Greenhouse. The book is Silent Spring by Rachael Carson. Graphic Design work was done by the new PR Office Graphic Design intern, Cameron Kraus, who also helped in the photography by holding a flash. In strobist terms he was a VAL or voice activated light stand.
