I missed a tall water bird in a really beautiful setting today. He flew off just before I got into a spot to shoot him. He wasn't spooked just ready to go. So I decided to try to get a bird photo anyway today. Nothing like having a 400mm lens and high speed crop to a have 600mm lens.
I also shot this hawk as a possible but I like the little bird in the grass better. Maybe I can get the big water bird sometime soon.
Photo note: Both images were shot with a Nikon D3s and a Nikon 80-400 zoom. Images were processed with Snapseed on an iPad.
