9-16-2013 Teaching Photography

 I do love teaching my Basic Photography class at Harding University.  This photo is at the President's house as I was there waiting for George Will to show up for a reception.  I saw this light and earlier in the day I had lectured on quality and direction of light.  This is hard backlight.  I think my students sometimes wonder why recognizing things like the lighting is important but it is part of the language of photography and if you don't speak lighting you will never be much of a photographer.

 I love using the Snapseed App to adjust my iPhone images and I always have a hard time deciding between straight b&w and warm toned b&w.
