Somedays the photos are about an exciting event or a decisive moment. Today the photo is about light, color and texture.
This is the support beam that holds my back porch up. the sun was just hitting it and not high enough in the sky to hit the driveway. Therefore, the warm soft sunlight on the beam and the cool blue shadows of the background. In color psychology warm colors come forward in a frame and cool colors recede just like brighter areas come forward and darker areas recede. So you see this color and the brightness of the post coming forward actually give a strong illusion of three dimensions.
