Roy Sawyer, one of our long-time members of the Board of Trustees passed away after having open heart surgery about ten days ago. Roy had been on the Board for 42 years.
His funeral will be Monday, July 7, at 2 p.m. It will be at the Senatobia Church of Christ in Senatobia, Mississippi. He will be buried in Sardis, Mississippi, which was his home.
I had a special connection with Mr. Sawyer. He knew my wife's family in Senatobia. He always stopped and asked about my family and the family in Mississippi and when I had been down to see them. I will miss my Mississippi friend.
